Chip designer opening in GOOGLE

GOOGLE  id doing significant hiring in Bengaluru for its chip unit that is working to develop chipsets in areas like on-device machine learning.of the 64 job opening in googles Bengaluru engineering team, the majority are for chip design related roles. positions are open for experienced candidates in integrated circuits (ASIC) prototyping field programmable gate array (FPGA)for manufacturing, for driving the functional verification system on chip (SOC).RAJAT BHARGAVA, who previously held senior positions i9n Broadcom and Intel, was appointed by Google about a year ago to lead the initiative here. internet firms like google facebook and Amazon, as also apple, Samsung and Microsoft are all accelerating efforts to design chips for functional critical to them, not wanting to depend entirely on traditional semiconductor for specialists like Intel, Qualcomm, AMD, and Nvidia.it has been previously reported that Google could hire as many as 80 people for the chip designing team in Bengaluru and that it has poached several engineers from Intel, Qualcomm, and Nvidia. the team will work to develop hardware, software and networking technologies to power google's device and services. Bengaluru is today one of the world.ds biggest chip design hubs. an email sent to Google on the chip and hardware efforts did not elicit a response. Vivek Wadhwa, a distinguished fellow at Carnegie Mellon University engineering at silicon valley, said the initiative is good for Google and the ecosystem . "google gains high highly qualified engineers who can be taught to do hardware design. the ecosystem gains knowledge in how to build specialized hardware system. it is very hard to find talent in silicon valley with the skills to do sophisticated hardware development "he said Google has 68295847  similar number of job openings in the US too for hardware engineering and chip design.
